Brooklyn Lights

I start my "New York" photo project from this photo. What is this project? Pictures taken during my roaming around in NYC over a period of about a month.
Brooklyn has something different about it and I would say, to me Brooklyn represents New York, and like this picture its blur, bold and beautiful.
This is actually my last picture from this project, but it doesn't matter.

Seeing Light

I know I have been inactive. Trust me this time I have been busy. Since my last post I settled in India, started my internet marketing company Click Labs , started managing my family business (poultry) and am thinking of some interesting photography projects.
In other words I am getting the feeling that I have transitioned from "Brahmacharya" or the Student Stage to the "Grihastha" or the Householder Stage according to Hindu beliefs. Its more a mindset than something tangible but surely thinking has changed. I am seeing the light.

Stop Go

Sometimes somethings just mirror your mind! On my second last day in New York, returning after dinner with a few friends, I saw this and clicked a snapshot. As an entrepreneur, I find myself in such situations often. The trick is to decide for yourself as life wont give you directions all the time.

Ruby

A few weeks ago all the members of UMD's photo club did a photo shoot at the National Harbor. This is my attempt at portraiture from that visit with some help from Ruby- the model here. She is a business major at UMD. This is not a planned image but one in between the planned ones. Considering my inclination towards capturing candid moments rather than planned, perfect ones I like this one best. I like the way she is completely unaware of the world around her for a moment.

I saw the Apple store for the first time and the first thought I had was- Apple has got some balls! It takes guts to build such a wasteful structure at such a prime piece of property. Apple sure does things differently.

When people from different cultures meet there is this amazing entropy that can be felt but is tough to capture the essence of. But this wall I think captured it pretty well.

Swiss love Cheese

Swiss really love cheese. In almost every street market you can find street shops selling exclusively cheese and a lot of it, such as this one in Bern. Even though quite small by general standards, Switzerland is big enough to have no less than 450 varieties of cheese and I wonder if a typical Swiss has even tasted them all.

Bike Odometer

I have never seen an odometer on a bike before and where else to expect to see it but in Bern, Switzerland. Though it's not that complicated to make I assume but no one cares about odometers on bikes. Maybe this explains why this tiny country dominates so many technologies. Remember Einstein was a patent clerk in this very city. Perhaps the air is different here.. :)

An abandoned bike on banks or river Rhine in Basel, Switzerland. The seat looks comfy still to me though!
